The design features of all external and many internal Daimler websites are based on the design of the Corporate Website, www.daimler.com.

A key element of the branding is the characteristic silver-colored brushed header, which is obligatory for all external sites. Only the Daimler Chrome corporate logotype is permitted on this. It is positioned as an umbrella brand on the left-hand side of the header. All name-bearing Daimler companies and all digital media with a reference to the Daimler name are to be positioned with right alignment on the same base line as the Daimler logo. Other logos must not be used.

The Daimler logo and navigation are positioned with left alignment, the sender with right alignment on the same base line. If one or several brands have to be highlighted as the sender of the page, a position in the Content section can be included for communication.

      3.8.3.Preparation of the article pages

An article page fundamentally follows the daimler.com structure. Nevertheless various forms are possible in order to keep the design  as flexible as possible for different applications. In order to make the reading flow more pleasant the body copy can be arranged in both a single column or in two columns. It can also accept different lengths in the Content section.

The daimler.com design guidelines should generally be followed in order to ensure a consistent appearance. If deviations are necessary due to technical restrictions, there should be only a minimal change in the overall impression.

          3.8.5.Daimler as a partner

Websites on which Daimler appears as a partner must be able to differentiate according to occasion and topic. The design features of daimler.com are not binding in this case. Only the Daimler logo must be positioned in the footer. In this case the design should be coordinated with the "Online Communications (COM/EDM)" department.

Basic elements can be restructured for internal applications. The characteristic metal look of the header is used in the example on the left to emphasize the stage.
