After the page name (site identifier), the assist bar is the second important mandatory item in the header area of an application. The assist bar contains links such as user name / profile, contact, help and language selection.
The use of icons should be avoided in the assist bar. Plain text links are usually sufficient.
- Functions such help, contact, profile settings and language selection should be placed exclusively or at least in the assist bar. In this case, "at least" means that these options can be offered elsewhere as well, if necessary.
- Each application or intranet site must provide an option for contacting the relevant help desk or application support in this area.
