In general, links provide a direct connection to online information. These links quickly guide users to topics that are important to them.

There are different types of website links. The most important ones on the Daimler website are:

  • Text links
  • Buttons
  • Teaser boxes (with or without an image)
  • Image links

6.14.1Text links

Text links can be used both in running text and as individual elements.

The font size corresponds to the respective content type. Unlike normal text, links are displayed in color value petrol 100% (#00677f), and when they are moused over they are to be displayed in dark petrol (#003340). Links are normally followed by a link arrow icon. The symbol for external links can be used for external links.

6.14.3Teaser boxes

Teaser boxes are extended layout option of links. Here text and image elements are combined with each other. This draws the user's attention to a specific topic. In the combination of several boxes a heading pages can be realize very quick, because the user can grasp the topic clusters rapidly.

Examples of this can be found on the category homepages for the Daimler corporate website.

In general, links can be provided to images in HTML pages. However, this option is generally only used on Daimler sites to enlarge images or for lightboxes in order to access the interactive layer with the full slideshow.
